Piki Films are seeking a Maori girl, 12-14 years old, to play a support role in a new film directed by Taika Waititi.

The character is outgoing with a strong sense of humour and confidence. A country kid, she's independent, can handle herself in the bush, and is an experienced horse-rider. She can also sing and play guitar. There will be rehearsals & horse riding lessons if required, prior to shooting.

You must be available for about 5-7 days between 11 May to 15 June for filming around the North Island.

Record a video of you telling a joke and strumming on the guitar - preferably at the same time! Upload this to youtube, Vimeo, or Dropbox, and send us a link on the form below. Make the settings private if you don't want everyone to see it.

Small Print

1. You acknowledge that Piki will use the uploaded footage for the purpose of assessing casting potential in the Film, and should the named girl be successful in the casting process and ultimately be selected for the role of Kahu, then such footage may be utilised in any publicity or promotional material for the film and/or as part of any extra’s material for the film. You understand that you will not be entitled to any compensation because of the use by Piki of any such footage.

2. The Piki team reserves the right to:

a.  reject or not consider any non-compliant submission;

b. request additional footage if and as reasonably required for casting purposes on email notification; and

c. accept any late proposals.

3. This Agreement will be governed by the laws of New Zealand.
